While it may not be apparent to the average resident, the Township owns considerable property, generally referred to as infrastructure. This infrastructure includes many kilometers of roadways along with water and sewer lines. The Public Works Department has the challenging task of maintaining and regularly upgrading this diversified infrastructure worth millions of dollars. The community will readily notice the obvious Public Works activities. In winter, the Town's fleet of vehicles work long hours to keep streets plowed and safe for traffic. During the summer months, a regularly scheduled program of road maintenance and upgrades ensure that traffic can move smoothly from one point to another. What is not so obvious is the Public Works other duties, such as animal control and building inspections. Over the years, other means of animal control had been tried with limited success and added costs to the residents. All complaints of animals running loose are directed to the Public Works Department and handled as soon as practicable. Roads & Traffic Department Roadway and sidewalk maintenance |
