PRINCIPLES/VALUES
The Hornepayne Community Hospital is committed to excellence and accountability through the following principles/values and in keeping with the Code of Ethics/Values.
1. The Hornepayne Community Hospital is a patient-focused facility where management, staff, Board, physicians and volunteers are committed to fostering an environment that places the needs of our patients, residents, and their families above all other concerns. We will treat all we serve with dignity, compassion, kindness, and consideration. We will recognize their rights of privacy and confidentiality.
2. The Hornepayne Community Hospital through their health care team is committed to providing and facilitating access to high quality, appropriate and cost-effective care to the community.
3. The Hornepayne Community Hospital recognizes and respects the diversity of needs within the community, including cultural, religious, ethnic, language differences, differing socio-economic status and differing lifestyle choices.
4. The Hornepayne Community Hospital is committed to pursuing partnerships with other service providers and professional regulatory bodies to ensure care is delivered in a rational, co-ordinated and effective way.
5. The Hornepayne Community Hospital is committed to creating and supporting a client-safety culture.
6. The Hornepayne Community Hospital is committed to creating and supporting a positive work life culture
7. The Hornepayne Community Hospital is committed to obtaining and maintaining accreditation status through the CCHSA.
8. The Hornepayne Community Hospital will act with procedural fairness, impartiality, consistency, equitably, honestly, and integrity according to the Public Hospital Act, Regulation and Laws in the way we conduct our business. The Hornepayne Community Hospital will be open and accountable to the community through accountability governance, open board meetings and reports.
9. The Hornepayne Community Hospital ensures that continuous quality improvement, health & safety, risk management, infection control, and ethics programs are all in place and viable.
10. The Hornepayne Community Hospital promotes and supports a Hospital Auxiliary organization, volunteer program, and pastoral care.

Code of Ethics/Values
This Code of Ethics applies to all employees, physicians, volunteers, students, officers, and governors of the Hornepayne Community Hospital, and we hereby affirm that:
We are committed to dealing fairly and ethically with all whom we associate and to conduct ourselves in accordance with our values.
We will adhere to a high standard of corporate ethics.
We will comply with all applicable Hornepayne Community Hospital policies and procedures, laws, rules, regulations, contracts, and will avoid any activities that could involve or lead to involvement in any unlawful practice.
Our Ethical Values:
Trustworthiness: We trust our colleagues as valued members of the healthcare team and pledge to treat one another with honesty, integrity, loyalty, and dignity.
Respect: We recognize and affirm the unique and intrinsic worth of each individual and treat all those we serve with dignity, courtesy, tolerance, privacy, acceptance, and autonomy.
Caring: We will treat all those we serve with compassion, kindness, and consideration.
Justice/Civic Virtue: We will act with procedural fairness, impartiality, consistency, equitably, honestly, and integrity in the way we conduct our business. We will be a law abiding, community minded, and be aware of the need to protect the environment.
